Tori Berghoff is a professional painter living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She creates portraits, representational paintings inspired by nature’s bounty, abstracts and murals. As an eternal hardcore optimist, her intention is to create beauty in an effort to be a part of the light that will drive out the darkness in the world.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that." - MLK

Tori was born and raised in small-town Texas. She grew up on a farm with little to do but let her imagination run wild. Her grandmother "JoJo", who was an artist, introduced Tori to the glory of oil paints when she was eight. When JoJo saw her desire and aptitude, she enrolled Tori in her first art class. JoJo continued to encourage her as an artist for the rest of her life.

Tori always knew that she wanted to be an artist. She spent many years chasing all sorts of dreams including theater and singing. The easel always called her home, though, so when she moved to San Francisco she decided to return to school to get a formal education in the classical approach to painting. She studied Fine Arts, Painting and Drawing at the Academy of Art University, SF. She has also studied with Chester Arnold, Jerry Ross and Kathleen Lack. Tori is a member of the Portrait Society of America and Oil Painters of America.

Tori's work has been featured in juried local and national group exhibitions and in a solo show in Eugene, Oregon. Her commissioned portraits of both people and pets, representational works, and abstract paintings hang in private homes throughout the United States as well as in Germany and France. In addition, Tori has created several commissioned murals throughout the city of San Rafael, CA where she lives with her amazing husband, two awesome kids, two fat cats and their beautiful pup, Bonnie.
